Out for a walk…

Today Mark and I went to pick up Marks car that’s parked in the garage @ his grandparents place in Goniadz (which is north-west for Bialystok). It was a nice day with sunny weather and spring fresh air, so we decided to walk some of the way! So we ended up with taking the bus from Bialystok to Monki, and just walk the last 11-12 km to Goniadz.

Canon 500D is here…

The new canon 500D is released today! This is the upgraded version of the 450D. The 500D has 15,1 Mpix and video in full HD (1920×1080). The ISO range is also upgraded up to 12.800!
This camera is ment as a competitor to the Nikon D90. The canon has a better HD video function, meaning that it has autofocus, which the D90 don’t have on the video.
But I think canon did a miss on the price! While you can get the Nikon D90 with a lens for under 10.000,- Norwegian kroners, you will need to pay 10.999,- for the Canon 500D with the 18-55 mm IS-lens.
The press release on the Canon 500D in Norway is later today! We will see what they have to say about it! Looking forward to have a new camera on my wish list! But as it looks now, I think that the 5D mark II still is on the top.

Etiuda terminal, Warsaw, to close…

The Etiuda terminal at Poland’s capital airport is closing down this weekend.
On Friday night, the Etiuda terminal at Warsaw’s Okęcie airport will be finally closed. All passengers, either on schedule or low cost airlines, are going to depart from terminal 1, and terminal 2, which opened last year.
The change will cause ticket prices to rise by about 30 zlotys, or 10 dollars.
Etiuda has been carrying mainly low cost airlines since 2004. Earlier, the prefab-type building was rented as a furniture warehouse.
Jakub Mielniczuk, spokesman at the airport, told thenews.pl that in 2008, 1,3 mln passengers went through Etiuda.
Etiuda will still be used but now as an arrival terminal only.

Lowest cancer survival rate…

Poland has the lowest cancer survival rate in Europe, according to a new study by the European Cancer Organization.
Just 21 percent of men and 38 percent of women in Poland make full recoveries after being diagnosed with cancer, says the research.
Iceland has the highest clear up rate, for men in Europe, with 47 making a full recovery and 59 percent women were cured in France and Finland.
In general, however, the cure rate is increasing throughout the continent, says the research which was done in 23 countries, covering a population of 151 million people.

A-Team…

Do you remember the A-Team? Those “problem solvers” from the 80’s! Well they may be coming back! Oh yeah, that’s right! They are going to make a movie but I’m looking forward to see the casting! The role played by Mr T in the series, that big black guy, is sead to be played by the rapper Ice Cube! I hope they can find someone else! Ice cube don’t have the “cred” to be a bad as ass Mr T! Also Bruce Willis is mentioned for a part in the movie!
