Sit-in strike in Bialystok hospital…..

Posted by espenpre on 4:17 AM in My life

Apparently it’s not just in Norway there is a strike because of pay negotiations right now, also here in Bialystok, Poland, they are sticking to their demand. This news is from March.

Nurses and midwives from the regional hospital in Bialystok, north east Poland, have begun a sit-in strike.

Some of the nurses and midwives in the Bialystok hospital who finished their night shift Monday morning, were seen carrying sleeping bags and blankets to the paediatric ward.

The decision to go on strike was made after an unsuccessful meeting between the nurses and midwives? representatives with the hospital management. Initially, they demanded a pay rise of 500 zlotys a month each.

Later, they agreed on a 380 zlotys? increase effective from March, but both postulates were rejected.

By the end of the year, the nurses and midwives from Bialystok demand a monthly salary increase of 1000 zlotys net each. (mj)
